I was Eng Officer from '65-'68 with two Viet Nam tours. Delighted to hear the LUCID is still with us. Great ship; memorable times, wonderful guys.
I was a CSSN on board the Pledge MSO 492 from 9/67 to 12/70. at pier 9, Long Beach
I was aboard the USS Excel in the 50's
I cannot believe how they have taken everything off of her and left he naked and hollow. It is great you people are trying to restore her! I served '66 to 70 on the Fidelity (443) & Skill (471).
i wasent on this mso but served on the thrasher msc 203 in 1967 before brownwater navy in vn- uss oklahoma city clg 203- then uss long beach cgn 9- good luck with your plans to bring her back when im in the delta next time ill have to come and see her- didnt know there were any left china bought mine- bm3 fair winds to all
I'm doing this for my buddy who is unable to use a computer. John was Stationed in 1965 thru 1969 on the USS Pledge,USS Effingham,USS Lucern County All three Mine Sweepers thru the Viet Nam era. He just wanted to Salute all his Shipmates @ this time. Thank you for your time. Gene Chinino.

Hello all! Served aboard the USS Ability MSO 519 and the USS Vigor MSO 473 from 1968-1971. RM2 and at times was the only radioman aboard. Zza Gabor and a Hilton reltive stayed aboard one nite in Majorca. My brush with fame!

Plank owner of the USS Illusive AM 448. went on board as the pre-commissioning crew in Sept 1953. LtCdr John Ruzic USN commanding. We commissioned the Lucy on Nov 14, 1953.
I was discharged in Long Beach, CA in Oct 1954 after 7 years of service. Great ship and a Great Captain as was our Comm Officer EN Swanson. Glad to hear from anyone that was on the ship during my time on board or following.
